An illustrous and many-sided santafesinean born in San Javier on February 13th, 1889, Alcides Greca was a writer, lawyer, journalist, a jurist expert in municipal right, university professor and pioneering film director with his semi-documentary feature "El último malón" (The last indian rebelion, 1918). His work is imbued by a noticeable sense of justice and freedom. He died in Rosario city, on April 16th, 1956.

Greca's Hat is a project of a fictionalized documentary (doc/fic) to be produced during year 2002.
* Winner of one of the production prizes of the National Institute for the Cinema and Audiovisual Arts -INCAA- in a contest for telefilm projects from the provinces (Resolution # 1308/01).
* Declared of Cultural Interest by the Subsecretary of Culture of the Province of Santa Fe (Disposition Nº 363, 11/13/01).
* Declared of Municipal Interest by the H. Municipal Council of Rosario (Decret Nº 20.779, 11/29/01).

The project's background
In 1988, Master in Social Communication
C. Manuel Castro carried out a research about the film by Alcides Greca "El último malón", through a grant of the National Fund for the Arts / FNA.
In 1995/96 he developed a research about the life and the work of Alcides Greca, through a grant of the Subsecretary of Culture of Santa Fe.
